Ready or Not Here Come the Holidays!

I am sitting here thinking that it is the end of October already! Before we know it the holidays will be upon us. Thanks to "The News Herald Lighten Up Contest" this will be my first thin holiday. I am looking forward to getting some new clothes. I really need them because I went from a size 16 to a 12 and would like to get to a 8 or 10. What I am not looking forward to is all the FOOD. I can't ever remember a time when I went into the holidays worrying about my weight. I't's just what you are suppose to do..gain weight...news resolution...is to lose it. I need some help and advice on how to tackle these holidays head on! Leave me all your tips and comments below. Thanks!

  1. Hey Charlene,

I love all your articles. I do have one tip for the holidays. Buy a really killer outfit now that you want to wear then. Maybe even a little small so you will be determined not to put any weight on so you will fit into it. Keep it right were you can see it all the time. You'll do great. You look awesome in this picture. Hope your still running

    Your lighten up buddy,

  2. Hey Sue, That is a great idea. I will post a picture of my new dress when I get it! I have not ran in two weeks because the top of my thigh hurts when I run. I hate it when I can't run. Been doing the elliptical until everything is feeling better and I can run again. Take Care,

    Charlene

  3. Hey Charlene...a good tip through the Holidays and all those parties stuffed with food is to start now by wearing clothes that are a little uncomfortable. Especially if you go out to dinner or even sitting down at someone elses home to eat. You will eat less, make healthier choices and be so proud that you didn't indulge. Then go home and take off those clothes, look in the mirror and see the red marks that those snug clothes left on your skin. You will be motivated to stay on track regarding food intake. And you will be totally proud of yourself. It works for me. BC the opposite is not a good feeling. When we do eat what we know we shouldn't...and those red marks are still there...not fun at all.

  4. Tight clothes. I would have never thought of that one. I'm thinking eating healthy before you go to parties so your not hunger when you get there. When I'm hungrey that is when my willpower is at the lowest!
